I started my painting with deep inspiration from 'Ibdes in Aragon' by André Masson in the 'surrealism and beyond' section of the exhibition. I was envious of the confidence which the painting seemed to give of, with it's bright colours and romantic setting. I started my response in the aim of creating a painting which would contrast to that, yet remain in the same 'universe'. However, along the way, my memories of childhood were re-kindled, and I found myself remembering one of my favourite dreams from childhood. The painting became a representation of that. As a result, the painting also became much more simplistic in terms of composition than originally intended, along with the colours becoming less bright and saturated. Overall though, I'm really pleased with the result.

Its beautiful :)
GREAT WORK!!!
